PLAN A VISIT!
At GospelWay you can come as you are. Seriously! This means that our dress code is casual. If you are a shorts and t-shirt kind of person then come in a t-shirt. If you typically wear a dress or a tie, you don’t have to dress down to feel at home: come in your tie or your dress!
Our welcoming environment also means that you don’t have to put up a front or pretend like you’ve got it all together. We value transparency and honesty. You are encouraged to be honest about yourself and your struggles. None of us have arrived; we are all struggling in various ways.
We believe that the Bible is God’s very word given to us as a gift through which we can know Him and fellowship with Him. To the extent that we correctly interpret and understand the Bible, we are hearing Jesus speak to us. For this reason, we think it is very important to teach straight from God’s word and through books of the Bible. No man’s opinion is as important as what God has to say to us. His word is timelessly true and relevant.
Liturgy simply refers to the arrangement of worship in a worship gathering. Some churches are very loose and casual in their approach to worship gatherings. In these services there is little or no attempt at a cohesive, intentional connection between the elements in the service. Other churches are very formal, and every single aspect of worship is scripted. We are somewhere in between. We think that an ordered structure and flow to the service is helpful because we believe there is a basic biblical pattern for worship. We believe this pattern helps to clearly express the gospel. So, we typically move from a vision of God’s holiness and glory, to a recognition of our sin, to the hope of redemption found in Jesus, to what it means to live as sons and daughters of God, to being sent out as Christ's ambassadors.
Within this framework we try to leave room for God’s Spirit to move among us, convict us, encourage us, and lead us. We don’t want to become so married to a form that it becomes nothing more than a routine. We want everything that we do to be meaningful and point to Jesus. In our gatherings we will always read scripture, sing to God, listen to a sermon, and be sent out to labor in our communities.
The primary focus of music at GospelWay is to make the gospel the focus of all our singing. The content of our songs is what is most important to us. Whenever you come to a GospelWay gathering you can expect to find people passionately singing to God and joyfully declaring the wonder of who Jesus is and what he has done to save sinners.
Gospel means “good news”. When we say we are "gospel focused" we mean that the central truth of our church is the good news of who Jesus is and what he’s done to save the world. Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became a human being in order to rescue mankind from sin and death by living a perfect life, dying in the place of sinners, and rising from the dead. Through faith in Jesus, sinful human beings can be forgiven, reconciled to God, and receive eternal life. This gospel announcement is the hope for the world and the fundamental solution to every problem in our lives. Everything else that we do as a church will be informed, founded upon, and flow from the gospel of Jesus Christ.
